Hi Claudio,

Things are going well.  Just wanted to check in and let you know the progress being made.

We have already begun moving to our River Rd. home and preparing the Kirkwood property for Life Trades.   As we get the rooms cleared, I will send you some pics of it.

Rev. Anderson and I will meet this weekend and discuss linking the trade school to the already existing Seeds For Life Educational, Inc.

I've been talking with students about the tailoring trade and they are very excited!  I have a notebook that I'm having the students to write their basic contact information in and to write why they want to take the course, along with attributes they can bring to the trade.

The syllabus you began is just fine.  We will select a team of Math & Science Professors to critique our booklet and get a 2nd opinion as needed.  So don't worry okay…

Also, send me the directions to your home when you get a moment.  Then we will select a Saturday to come out and see the equipment and what we'll need.

God Bless,

Susie Davis

Dear Susie,

I am in Chile and will possibly be here till after the first of the year. I have some time this week and will update the syllabus with more comprehensive detail. I believe I can come up with a structure for cost and remuneration. In light of the fact I have no basis or little knowledge of the line of work, or business  of education my numbers may have little relevance.
I like that you are making headway with this project, it is not only a a fine thing to do but in adult continued education there is demand for this type of education.

Best wishes for continued sucess,
Claudio Avendano

Let's rejoice and be glad we're here ...

There are many positive business people and information I will share at our next meeting.
Timing is great for the extended education we will bring to our communities!

I was blessed to attend the Who's Who in Black Atlanta event recently, and the publisher of TrendSetter Magazine wants the stories of our organization.  He ask that I submit an article of how I attended the event.

Let's look at our calendars and send me your available dates if we can meet before the New Year.

God Bless,

Susie Davis

Hi Claudio,

Thank you so much for your response.

I will be gathering market information on costs for this type of educational venture and we will discuss along with your knowledge and cost information.
In the development process, we will determine how we will target students who will make a commitment to the take the course.

The surveys that we do will identify interested students and, we will target Boys & Girls Clubs, Recreation Centers, Church groups, etc.

TEAM:  What are your thoughts of recruiting a pilot group of 8 students to take the course and assist them with fee sponsorship as needed.
This way, as we implement the program we can know what works best continually.

I have identified several substantial donors to contact after we get the business plan documented and have a market analysis.

Let's continue to exchange via email and we can schedule our next meeting when you are in town and everyone is available.

With warm regards,

Susie

I have not had time to fully answer in detail your recent email, and have a couple of questions.
1. Is there some basis for what the instructor fee represents as to responsibilities and time?
2. Is there an estimation of what the course would cost ?
I believe I will be going out of town this Friday will be back in one or two weeks, I will be available during that time via internet.
Thank you,
Claudio

Good Morning!

I hope you had a safe and warm holiday.

The sylabus is great and to the point.  NOTE THIS CHANGE:  We will offer the skill trades to ages 13 and up.
Over the weekend several young adults male & female have expressed a sincere interest in taking the course.

The next step in the sylabus will:

    1.  Describe the learning process of each topic ~ Example:  Lecture, video presentation, book reading and exercises, field trips, etc.   I think it will be ideal to create   study guide pamphlets for the course.  This way all information is preserved and guidelines will be documented and consistent for the future.   Determine if the printed pamphlets will be purchased by the students or if it will remain property of the organization.

    2.  List all equipment and materials needed for each course.  Stipulate items that student should provide and items the organization can provide.

    3.  State your instructor fee per student on a monthly basis.  Though our status is non-profit, our goal is to compensate professionals on performance-base commensurate with student achievement.  This is needed for the Business Plan.  Also, give your feedback on how we can distribute student stipends to supplement cost of materials.

    4.  Include a student application and/or aptitude assessment for the course.

    5.  Provide a mid-term progress report and final report card along with attendance.

This week i am starting the market analysis and drafting the Business Plan.  Please feel free to send your thoughts as they come and i can include them in the planning.

We will schedule our next meeting for a 2-hour session.  I will send an e-mail with a calendar to select the next meeting date.

Thanks Team!

Good Morning!

You're right, we didn't consider the holiday.  I will print the information below and look closely at what you've done over the weekend.  We'll communicate via email and reschedule the next meeting when you return.

Great things are happening regarding fabric education.  I'll share more later.

I'm so grateful that we met and can share our experiences through education for the world.

With warm regards,

Susie

I believe I will not be able to meet with you this Thursday as I had over looked that it was Thanksgiving. I will also be traveling on Friday, and will be away for at least a week. I keep in contact mostly through email, and you will normally find me on yahoo messenger at claudioavendano233  I use yahoo messenger a good deal to keep connected with our shop.    http://thetailorshop.com/tailorschool.htm   This is basic draft of the ideas we spoke of on our last meeting. Please look it over and let me know if this is what you were looking for and if they are in line with the program.

Sincerely,  Claudio Avendano , Claudio Avendano Tailors
